Treating Mosquitoes with the Right Steps

Mosquitoes are one of the worst summer pests for the majority of people. There's plenty of them, too. In reality, more mosquitoes than human beings live on the planet! Are you shocked?

Mosquitoes arrive from the beginning of the spring through late autumn at noon and feed on landscape mammals. These annoying pests will ruin your picnic and discourage you from spending time on the courtyard at night. If you have a family member who loves spending time outside, you must know all about mosquitoes and available preventative measures to enjoy the day without being irritated. Go for mosquito treatment and before that take these preventive measures for sure.

Release the Trapped Water

In shallow water, mosquitoes lay their eggs. Only a small plate with about half an inch of water on the ground will lay eggs. The eggs need to become adult mosquitoes for around 8 to 10 days.

Water trapping is very normal

Stagnant water is a common problem on many properties, especially when homeowners water their garden and kids play in the courtyard in the growing season. Looking around your courtyard, you'll probably find several standing water sources, including:

  • Pot of flora

  • Doses for watering

  • Bird pools or bath

  • Drinking plates for animals

  • Pools for wading

The mosquito breeding grounds may be any of these areas.

Water can also be found on the lawn in the garbage. A small pool of water in its inner rim can be contained in a tire mounted on its side. A trash can include a puddle suitable for mosquito eggs that is left open during a rain storm.

If you are searching for standing water, look at all the waterproof places that you might usually miss.

Substituting standing water kills mosquito eggs

It could result in fewer mosquitos to search your property periodically for water and eliminate it.

If standing water is left to the yard intentionally, replace it regularly, as in bird baths and swimming pools. You may refresh your flower garden with the fresh water. This prevents the transformation of mosquito eggs into adult mosquitoes.

Fix the Leaks

Outdoor leaks in summer can be a concern. Look out for leaky outdoor rollers and other plumbing issues that can lead to unexpected puddles. Check all of your water falling faucets or puddles below unused faucets. When detecting a problem, call a plumber for help.

Prevention

You can still be vulnerable to mosquitoes in your house, even if you have removed some areas in your lawn in which mosquitoes wish to lay eggs. When spending time outside, use DEET mosquito repellent and also protect your family members. Speak to your family physician for advice if you have an infant that cannot wear bug repellent. When using an insect repellent, please follow the instructions.

Did you handle your property well?

Take care of your property in the summer with a pest control company. This is particularly good practice prior to major events like barbecues and outdoor birthdays when many people and food are likely to spend a long time outside your yard.

In addition to being able to handle your grass, your mosquito treatment will also locate secret areas where mosquitoes are likely to breed. These protections will help keep your property clear of mosquitoes in the summer so you can enjoy the outdoors. Mother Nature’s Pest & Lawn in OKC can help you out with this.
